Gemini is an exhibition exploring duality and ways in which it can polarize and unite both the self and society.

As humans, we find comfort in understanding one thing by acknowledging its opposite.

Good vs. bad.

Introvert vs. extrovert.

Mother vs. individual.

And it’s only natural!

In a world where our days are followed by nights, our lives are created by two, and every action has an equal and opposite reaction, pairs just makes sense.

But duality has too often been painted as black and white, informing our belief that if we are one thing, we cannot be another.

Gemini is here to change that.

Gemini asks us to view duality as 3-dimensional and find confidence in its complexities.

To explore what it looks like to be X & Y and see what might live in between.

As womxn, we know the power of our collaborative spirit and the socialized obstacles that get in our way

We’ve seen how ideology can divide and keep us from our mission. So Gemini is the work to be done.

It’s time to get comfortable feeling uncomfortable

and accept discomfort as an opportunity for growth.

To accept that for all we do know of ourselves and others…

There’s a lot we also don’t.

Let’s acknowledge duality as a sculpture, not a canvas.

Here’s to Chapter IV.
